I'm Jemma, a British-Canadian author-illustrator and former set decorator and picture book illustrator, now based in Gloucester. I run the business with my sister Lydia, and if we had to describe what makes my work unique, it’s the textural, painterly quality.

I use gouache, acrylic, wax pencil, and the highest quality watercolour paper to create bright, colourful, whimsical pieces full of woodland creatures, captured in gestural, rough, and imperfectly perfect marks.

My work is inspired by a wide range of things I love , from 1990s fantasy films and television, to the natural landscapes and interesting buildings of Gloucester and Vancouver.
